Mega Evolution is a temporary transformation
that boosts the powers and abilities of a Pokémon for use in combat. Its origins are believed to have
been from around 3000 years ago.

Mega evolution is achieved through the use of a
specific Mega Stone, which, if activated with a
Key Stone, causes the Pokémon to mega evolve.
Mega evolved Pokémon are identified by having the prefix "Mega" before its name.

Mega Stones have been theorized to be evolution
stones that were irradiated by the light of Xerneas and Yveltal,
fired by the ultimate weapon used to end the great war.
