Similar to Mega Evolution, the Bond Phenomenon, also known as the Battle Bond, is another temporary transformation, believed to be caused after a Pokémon harnesses its hidden potential.
However, unlike mega-evolving, no stone is required to cause the transformation.
We believe it is a result of the trust between the trainer and the Pokémon reaching its highest point.

been observed going through the Bond Phenomenon.

near-league-champion, Ash Ketchum, his Greninja has been
seen to take on a new, more powerful form.
